Formula
Volumetric weight = (Length × Width × Height) ÷ 3000. If it is greater than the package's actual weight, the charge is based on volume; otherwise the weight applies. Carriers ALWAYS charge the greater of the two.
Why the greater one?
A package takes up as much room in the vehicle as its VOLUME, not its weight. Three kilos of cotton fill far more space than three kilos of iron — and the carrier charges for that space.
Multi-package shipments
Every package is calculated and charged SEPARATELY. Declaring the combined volume as one package understates the charge, and the difference comes back on the invoice.
